The Persimmon™ software is designed to rate heat exchanger performance, trend key performance indicators over time, simulate complex exchanger networks, and perform exchanger cleaning cycle optimizations to help reduce energy costs. The new Automatic Data Reconciliation (ADR) module strengthens the cleaning analysis capabilities by providing a more consistent basis for developing optimal heat exchanger cleaning strategies. “With ADR, technical service staff can minimize the time and effort required to translate raw operating data into meaningful network analysis,” explains Veritech president Mike Rutkowski. “As a result, they have a consistent and systematic approach to generate more refined heat balances leading to increased operating cost savings.” Using Persimmon’s ADR application, users can reconcile complex heat exchanger network data automatically with the single click of a button. ADR, accessed directly from the Rating Spreadsheet of Persimmon, uses a powerful algorithm that closes the exchanger network heat balances while minimizing changes to the plant’s raw data inputs. The algorithm, which uses the built-in Excel Solver routine, balances heat exchanger network systems with little or no intervention from the user. Raw data entered into the program, such as flows and temperatures, are modified to within reasonable accuracy for use in the Simulation Spreadsheet for case study analysis and also for data storage to trend key process parameters.
