Michael Rutkowski
Founder and President
Mike Rutkowski has served as Veritechs President since the company was founded in 1993. Mike has more than 25 years of experience in the design and operation of petroleum refineries and petrochemical facilities. In addition to his executive duties, Mike directs Veritechs sales and marketing activities. He also has served as Project Manager on selected technical projects.
Bruce Pretty
Founder and Director of Technology
Bruce L. Pretty, Veritechs Director of Technology, is responsible for the application of innovative technologies related to energy, heat and power, and computer-based information systems. His experience in process applications work and troubleshooting covers a broad range of process industries. He also has 11+ years experience in pinch technology, including R&D experience as a staff member at the Center for Process integration in Manchester, England. Bruce is the principal developer of Veritechs PersimmonTM software and ESteamTM steam system model.
Andrew McMullan
Founder and Director of Business Development
Andrew McMullan has nearly 20 years experience in performance and profit improvement work. Highly skilled in the application of pinch technology and in the analysis of processes and utility systems, Andrew has completed many successful projects in the petrochemical, general chemical, food and beverage, and pulp and paper industries. Andrew also has served as Account Manager for some of Veritechs major clients and, currently, as one of Veritech key sales and marketing representatives.

Dawn Embrey, Office Manager
Dawn Embrey has been with Veritech since 1999. As Office Manager for Veritechs Sterling, Virginia headquarters, Dawn provides a wide variety of secretarial, financial, and sales and marketing functions in support of Veritechs staff.
Alan Karp, Senior Consultant
Alan Karp has more than 30 years of experience in industrial process analysis, design, and engineering. This includes extensive technical and economic evaluation of industrial process heat and power systems, analyses of utility power generation technologies and related issues, and the application of advanced process integration techniques (pinch technology) to refining and other industrial processes. Since joining Veritech in 1999, Alan has served as both Senior Consultant and as Manager, Business Development.
David Severson , Consultant
David Severson has more than 25 years of experience in Energy Management and energy-related Environmental Management with a focus on energy conservation and cost reduction and energy strategy development. He has experience in conducting process engineering studies to identify and implement process improvements to minimize energy consumption and increase energy efficiency, as well as planning and analyzing plant energy use. This includes steam conservation programs to improve steam distribution system and reduce boiler load; energy and environmental footprinting studies for industrial clients with operations at multiple sites; and energy efficiency assessment programs at client sites to evaluate facility energy use, quantify site utility costs, identify economical energy cost reduction opportunities and develop strategies to implement the cost reduction measures.
